He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo J. Donovan and Bertha DeLand Donovan (Aurand); his half-sister Helen Elliott (Fred, Jr.); and his nephew Larry. He is survived by: his wife Gera (Wittauschek) of Ft McCoy; his stepsons, Chad Gebler (Kristen) of Virginia Beach, VA, Eric of Ft. McCoy and Gerald Gebler of Ft. McCoy; his stepgrandchildren, Falyn Kelly, Bella and Grayson Gebler; his sisters-in-law, Marcia Kulibert, LeeAnna Rabida, Ginger Stephanie (Paul) and Barbara (John); his parents-in-law, James and Beverly Rabida (Wolf); and his brother-in-law Donald Kulibert. He is also survived by nine great nieces/nephews and, twelve great-great nieces/nephews.
A memorial fund is being established in his memory for VFW Post #2391, 6184 US Highway 1 South, St Augustine FL 32086.
