She was predeceased by: her parents, Carlo Zabadlija and Lilia Zabadlija; and her brother Lee. She is survived by: her husband Norman Bassion; her children, Jackie Echarte (Felipe Echarte Jr.) and David Bassion (Evey Bassion); and her grandchildren, Becca, Tripp, Elle, Sebastian, Charlie and Benji.
A Mass was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (4595 Bayview Dr, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308).
The family of Lu wishes to extend our sincere appreciation to the many doctors and healthcare workers who have cared for her over the years including Dr. Yesner, Dr. Hotte, Dr. Purow, Dr. Bejar, the team at Davita Dialysis and Dani Echarte. And a very special thank you to her brother, Bobby, for his gracious kidney donation. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Broward County Humane Society.
