He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thomas Black and Nanale Kirtley Black; and his siblings, John William Black, Thomas V Black, Edgar Lee Black, Bobby Charles Black, Alma Marie Alford, Betty Jamison Maupin, Joanne Westerfield and Paula Boyd.
He is survived by: his wife Chris Black; and his daughters, Lori Richmond (Frederick C Richmond III) and Shelly M Griffin (Shawn Griffin). He is also survived by five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
