He was predeceased by: his parents, Ocie Thomas and Dorothy Thomas; his wife Ruth; his grandson Derrick Foster; and his brothers, Cecil, James, O'Neal and Joe.

He is survived by: his daughters, Linda Foster (Robin) and Susan Horton (James); his grandchildren, Sheena Foster-Smith, Jennifer Foster and Terry Foster Jr.; his great grandchildren, Caden Smith, Dae'Lynn, Jayden and Ra'mel Foster; his brother Murdies Thomas; and his sisters-in-law, Mary Goodlet, Mable Underwood, Betty Williams (Chuck) and Beulah Thomas. He is also survived by family and friends.
