He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Joseph Scalise and Cecelia Accardi Scalise; his wife Patricia Scalise; his brother Joey (Libby Scalise); his children, William Walters, Kristine, Kerry, Richard and David; and his nephew Dan (family: Joe Jr.). He was also cherished by six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
