She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Rice and Mamie Wheeler Rice; and her sisters, Rose Ann Simmons, Alice Smith and Hattie Mae Rice.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Ann Mason (Ozell), Evett L. Simmons and Esquire; her grandchildren, Sherilyn Scraders (Shawn) and Rochelle Bowen (Terrance); her great grandchildren, Shawn and Amarah; and her nieces and nephews, Rose Ann Williams, Joseph Simmons, Rudolph Smith and Patricia Smith. She is also survived by many other family members and friends.
