He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Lindsey and Phyllis Lindsey; his siblings, John Lindsey, Sr., Ruth Ann Neeley and Linda Brown; and his father-in-law Jerry Gilbert, Sr..

He is survived by: his wife Cindy M. Lindsey; his children, Carl D. Lindsey, Jr. (Ashley), Christopher R. Lindsey (Alina), Terri D. Warington (Brian), Crystal M. Smith (Byron), Cindy N. Walters, Christina J. Barron (Carey) and Charity F. Naugle (Jacob); his siblings, James Lindsey and Loretta Mansfield; and his mother-in-law Joyce E. Gilbert. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 25th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Springhill Baptist Church (941017 Old Nassauville Rd, Fernandina Beach, FL 32034). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 25th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
