It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Cosson Montroy (Fernandina Beach, Florida), born in Defuniak Springs, Florida, who passed away on March 27, 2024, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter McKinley and Erie Balkom Cosson; her husband Daniel D. Montroy; her son Robert M. Smith; and her siblings, Willie Rae Cosson and Mary Nell Cosson.
She is survived by: her son John Lewis "Bo" Smith, III (Brenda); her stepchildren, Dana M. Ray, Teresa Montroy and Chris Montroy; and her grandchildren, Justin Smith, Suzanne Martino (Matt), Dell Castleberry (Shawn), Alderson Evans and Chrissy Woodward (David). She is also survived by several great grandchildren.
On behalf of the Class, a donation in Betty's name will be made to the St. Jude's Children Hospital.
