He was predeceased by: his wife Carolyn Tyre Van Meter; his parents, William E. Van Meter and Leona Van Meter; and his brother Don Van Meter. He is survived by: his siblings, Dorothy Schaefer (Conrad) of Council Bluffs, IA, Gerald Van Meter (Carol) of Fountain Inn, SC, Brenda Register (Rob) of DeLand, FL and Bonnie Kew of Altamonte Springs, FL. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
