It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vernon Lee Smith in Eustis, Florida, who passed away on September 27, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Vernon Lee Smith to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Letcher Smith and Annie Screven (Nell); his wife Nancy Jane Wallace of Akron; and his siblings, Shirley Rabon and Michael Screven.
He is survived by: his children, Sally Crisp (Nick) and Rusty Smith; and his siblings, John E. Smith of Fairfax, Richard Smith of Palm Bay, Michael Smith of Florence, Catherine Owens (Phil) of Umatilla, Barbara Screven Calamari of Alpharetta, Georgia and Phoebe Bradshaw of Sorrento. He is also survived by five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to Altoona Eagles 4H Program and/or Altoona School Food Weekend Foodpack Program.
