She was predeceased by: her parents, Walton Leroy and Bessie French Read; and her son Daniel K. Lanier. She is survived by: her children, John "Neal" Lanier Jr. (Julie) and Sally Lanier. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to go to Toys for Tots or a charity of your choice.
