With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John L. McGowin in Eustis, Florida, who passed away on February 7, 2024 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard McGowin and Mae McGowin; his wife Diana L. McGowin; and his brothers, David and Everette.

He is survived by: his son Spencer W. McGowin; his stepdaughter Amy Lynn Wyrick Jones; and his stepgrandsons, Jereme Wyrick, Steven Wyrick, Steven Jones and Jonathan Jones. He is also survived by five great grandchildren.
