He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Peter, Catherine Candela, Edward, Beverly Behrndt and Theadore LaPierre.

He is survived by: his parents, Joseph P. Candela and Mary Ann Candela; his wife Emily Candela (Ennis); his siblings, Rachael of Rome and Joey of Denver; and his foster daughters, Angel and Grace.

Visitation was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Anchor Christian Church (11651 E Terry St, Bonita Springs, FL 34135). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the St Joseph Catholic Church (1200 SE 10th St, Stuart, FL 34996). A Mass was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Kane Center (900 SE Salerno Rd, Stuart, FL 34997). A celebration of life was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.

In honor of Peter, we ask that anyone who is able to make a blood donation to do so to continue his efforts of bettering the lives of others. Monetary donations can be made to the Children's Network of Southwest Florida 2232 Altamonte Ave., Fort Myers, FL 33901 to help further support foster children in Florida.
