He was predeceased by: his wife Marie Elaine Rice; and his daughter Elena Marie Rice. He is survived by: his close friend Martha Cave; his sisters, Mary Ann Okhuysen (Jorge) of Houston, TX, Barbara McKenney (Richard) of Chatham, MA. and Regina Dowgiewicz (Anthony) of Timonium; and his stepdaughters, Selina DeSpirt of Jewitt City, CT and Lisa Moore of Montana. He is also survived by several grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
