He is survived by: his sons, William Hayes, Jr. of Florida and John Hayes of Thomaston; his daughters-in-law, Debra Hayes of Thomaston and Deborah Hayes of Thomaston; his grandchildren, Seth Jenkins of Bristol, Christine Hayes of Thomaston, Garrett Hayes (Rachel) of Watertown and Justin Hayes (Lindsay) of Northfield; and his sister Margaret Shugrue of Florida. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
