It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Wesley Purdue of Englewood, Florida, born in Curwensville, Pennsylvania, who passed away on January 15, 2023, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Purdue and Gertrude Purdue (Lord); and his brother Donald Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Karen Leonard Purdue; his daughters, Jody Schmeltz and Jamie Wagner (Keith); his brother Wilmer; his sister-in-law Barbara Leonard; his grandchildren, Christina Schmeltz, Rachael McDonald (Cedrick), Wesley Purdue-Hogben (Brooke), Caitlin Schmeltz and Adrian Schmeltz; and his great grandchild Ila Purdue-Hogben.
