It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gregory Vogel (Englewood, Florida), born in South Bend, Indiana, who passed away on June 8, 2019, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Nelson Vogel and Carolyn Vogel (Drzewiecki). He is survived by: his wife Marianne; his sons, Joshua (Jana), Jacob James-Vogel (Billie) and Jesse Vogel-Kerr (Nick); his stepdaughters, Suzy Weber and Amanda Mielcarz (Justin); his grandchildren, Caleb, Arianna (Joshua), Grant and Riley (Jacob); his brothers, Michael, Nelson and Thomas; and his pet Jack.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations in Greg's honor be made to The Back Pack Kidz of Charlotte County (backpackkidz.com).

“He was my 5th grade teacher at Twin Branch. I remember being terrified of him, until i had my first day in his class. He gave me a nickname, "the mouse", and put a little mouse on my desk to keep for the year. I had many good teachers, whom I liked & respected. But he was, by far, my absolute favorite. The world needs more teachers like him. I never saw him after elementary school, because I went overseas. I wish I'd gotten the chance. Thank you, Mr. Vogel - for seeing and inspiring me.”
