He was predeceased by: his parents, Caroline Jarvis Coats and Carl Gideon Coats; and his siblings, Catherine Anne Henderson (Coats), John and Thomas "Tommy" Coats.
He is survived by: his sons, Adam Coats (April) of Barling, AR and Dustin Coats (Angela) of Van Buren, AR; his brothers, Robert "Bob" Coats (Marsha) of Venice, FL, James "Jim" Coats (Nancy) of Stafford, VA, William "Hootie" Coats (Patty) of Rotonda West, FL and Harry "Hank" Coats (Tina) of Lake Arrowhead, CA; and his grandsons, Cole Coats (Adam) of Barling, AR, Noah and Owen Coats (Dustin) of Van Buren, AR. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
