It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edward Francis Shortt of Englewood, Florida, born in Southbury, Connecticut, who passed away on December 26, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Shortt and Mary O'Neil Shortt; and his siblings, Jack, James Shortt, Agnes of Georgia, Helen Tessier and Eleanor Shortt.

He is survived by: his wife Ellen S. Hunihan Shortt; his children, Joyce Schoonmaker (Walter), Donna Longo (Bob) and Edward Shortt, Jr. (Dawn) of Englewood; his grandchildren, Robert (Ashley), Tyler, Brittany Longo, Ally and Rory Shortt; and his great grandchildren, Ricky and Landon Longo. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
