He is survived by: his significant other Carol (Hinse); his children, Shari Shimkus (Michelle Teerlinck), David Shimkus, Jr. (Kelly Piazza) and Jeffrey Shimkus (Tanya Bissaillon); and his granddaughters, Ava Shimkus, Alayna Shimkus and Alea Shimkus. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
