He was predeceased by: his wife Judith K. Vargas (Mullis); and his parents, Anthony K. and Mary D. Vargas (Souza). He is survived by: his sons, David M. Vargas (Kate) and Stephen P. Vargas (Susan); and his siblings, William Vargas, Rita Mello and Veronica Motta.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 at 8:45 AM at the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home (331 Smith St, Providence, RI 02908). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Anthony Church (1413 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence, RI 02904).
