With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Carl J. Eklund of Englewood, Florida, born in Rockford, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Eklund and Ruth Eklund (Shelhart); his sister Edna Ring-Ballinger; his son-in-law James Medernach; his niece Sandra Franklin-Schwartz; his niece-in-law Tanya Franklin; and his nephew-in-law Jack Hauser.
He is survived by: his wife Edith Fahlbeck; his daughters, Susan Grenlund (Michael), Brenda Medernach, Kathy Kanturek (Sam) and Amy Ciaccio (Tom); his grandchildren, Taryn (Nick), Klein, Nicholas Schulz (Sara), April Adams, Heather Brimeyer (Ron), Marilyn Myers and Lyndsey Grenlund (Ehren Grenlund); his niece Linda Hauser; his nephews, George "Frank" Franklin and Michael (Jan); and his close friends, Barb Hertzner, Bobbie Walter, Sharon Aldrich, Vic, Mary Bubelis, Mike, Dorothy McCarter, Bob and Karen Carey. He is also survived by numerous great-nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, and beloved neighbors.
