He was predeceased by: his wife Janet Herbin; his daughter Jody Scharich; and his grandchildren, Kristina Myers, James Herbin and Mathew Herbin.

He is survived by: his children, Greg Herbin, Karen Troyer and Kim Herbin. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and many great great grandchildren.
