James Elwood Cathey Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Elwood Cathey of Ellenton, Florida, born in Lansing, Michigan, who passed away on December 30, 2022, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn E. Cathey and Frieda Cathey (Hance); his brother George Cathey; his parents-in-law, Henry and Gladys Worrall (Moore); and his nephew William Cathey.
He is survived by: his wife Diana Cathey (Worrall); and his children, Beth Brettmann (Michael), Kim Payne (Graham), Glenn H. Cathey (Jennifer) and Brad Cathey (April). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Gary Sinise Foundation in support of our veterans or the Tidewell Foundation for hospice care.
