He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Walter and Marion Barbara Matthiesen (Hand); and his siblings-in-law, Kevin Pearson and Donna King Matthiesen. He is survived by: his wife Linda; his children, Keriann Pierce and James Matthiesen; and his siblings, David Matthiesen (Astrid Pedersen) and Christine Pearson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his name to Holt International or Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery.
