He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Edson Boner and Nellie Boner (Stucker); his wife Mary Lou; his son Brian (Judy); his grandson Jackson (Heather); his sister Patsy Decuypere of Vicksburg, Michigan; and his parents-in-law, Jim, Carolyn, Ray, Carol VanDeVoorde and Diane Carr. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
