He is survived by: his children, Catherine Akers Whaley, Lisa Johnson (Dwane) and Michael Akers (Rachelle); and his grandchildren, Ivy, Braeden, Will Whaley, Alyson, Jared, Zachary Johnson, Samantha and Nathaniel Akers.
