He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Bassett and Ruth E. Bassett (Franklin) of Connecticut; his wife Betty Bassett; his siblings, Richard, Lester and Ruth (Schaefer); his brothers-in-law, Raymond Anderson and Richard Coombs; and his grandson Timothy Tighe.
He is survived by: his children, Carol Bassett (Allen Cloer), Frank Bassett (Lori Bassett) and Janet Tighe; his grandchildren, Dr Danielle Tighe and David; his siblings, John Bassett (Pat), Phyllis Coombs, Linda Anderson, Cynthia (Dave Wildowski), Barbara (Jeff Bitgood) and Sheryl (Steve Shea); and his friend Lucinda Swanson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
