He was predeceased by: his mother Polly Ogburn Granger; his wife Dorothy Geneva Conger Curry; his sons, Luther Edward "Buddy" Curry, Larry Wayne Johnson and Milton Johnson; his son-in-law Rex Kimbrough; and his brothers, Billy Granger, Jimmy Lee Granger and Jackie Granger.
He is survived by: his children, Edward Dewitt Curry, Jr. (Tina), Beverly Ann Wessinger, Shirley Jean Kimbrough, Bonnie Smith, Kathy Dickerson (Tim), Judy Spencer, Hayward Melvin Johnson (Viccie), James Aaron Johnson (Tameca) and Charles William Johnson (Judy); and his siblings, David Granger, Danny Granger, Bobby Granger, Pete Granger, Minnie Mae Jones and Gencie Granger Shaw. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
