He was predeceased by: his mother June Kanouse; and his brother Jack Bates. He is survived by: his children, Chris Bates (Erin) of Palatka and Jennifer Ward (Lance) of Spring Hill, TN; his brothers, Tim Kanouse (Annie) of Florahome and Dennis Kanouse (Lydia) of Francis; and his grandchildren, Alissa Ward, McKenzie Ward, Olivia Ward, Blaine Ward, Hadley Ward, Liam Bates and Evan Bates.
