She was predeceased by: her husband Frank Irvin Fairbanks, Jr.; her grandson Christopher Cory Cates; her parents, Willie Henry Brooks and Candancy Wilkinson Brooks; and her sisters, Mae Gunter and Billie Burkes.
She is survived by: her daughters, Tena (Gordon Cates), Theresa (David Mikulka, Sr.) and Lisa Cogar; her sisters, Bernice Griffin, Patricia Harris, Faye Burkes, Dorothy Fairbanks and Juanita Card; her grandchildren, Tiffany Michelle Cates, David Mikulka, Jr. and Lee Cogar; and her great grandchild Brantley Cates. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Shriner's Children's Hospital.
