With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joan Kathryn DeKay of Dunnellon, Florida, born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on February 28, 2024 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Kathryn Adloff (Zanini) and Frederick Adloff. She is survived by: her brother Lawrence Adloff (David); her children, Lawrence Jeffrey Swantko (Cris), Carrie O'Rourke (David), Matthew Swantko (Kim), Jennifer Blazejewski (Michael) and David James DeKay (Suzanne); her grandchildren, Kathleen Swantko, Mariah Burns (Garrett), Lauren Boutin (Zac), Jillian Williams (Eric), Hope Swantko, Abigail Swantko, Andrew Blazejewski, Adam Blazejewski, Jackson Swantko, Samantha DeKay and Charlotte DeKay; and her great grandchild Owen Boutin.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in honor of Joan DeKay to the Alzheimer's Association.
