He was predeceased by: his parent Jakob Atsma; his wife Ludewina (Lois); and his sisters, Tineke and Stien. He is survived by: his parent Gaatsje Atsma (Atema); his daughter Carla Skolburg (John) of Dunnellon; his sister Greet Krijnen of Hilversum, Netherlands; and his grandson John Skolburg of Dunnellon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
