He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Russell Burdette, Sr. and Gertrude Lewis Burdette. He is survived by: his wife Linda Burdette; and his children, Debra Miller (Andy), Cindy Bablitz, Anthony Bradley (Sharon) and Teresa Bradley (Johnnie).

Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
