He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Schmitt and Florence Schmitt (Faubert). He is survived by: his wife Helen Ciepiel Schmitt; his children, Kevin Schmitt (Carolyn), Valerie Payton (Kim), Joseph Schmitt (Bridgette Nation) and Monica Schmitt (Kyle Rutledge); his grandchildren, Kurt, Sheena, Erica, Jesse, Tristan, Emilie, Andre, Annalisa, Morgan, Paige, Sophie and Cameron; and his great grandchildren, Evan and Ryan.
