She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis Dewitt and Idell Dewitt; and her husband George Chavez. She is survived by: her children, Ruth Ann Coleman (George Jenkins Coleman), George Michael Chavez (Lisa) and Dr. Deborah Gavilan (Janice A. Gallmon). She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, twenty nine great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
