It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jennie Ruth Chavez of Dover, Florida, born in Ruffin, South Carolina, who passed away on November 24, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis Dewitt and Idell Dewitt; and her husband George Chavez. She is survived by: her children, Ruth Ann Coleman (George Jenkins Coleman), George Michael Chavez (Lisa) and Dr. Deborah Gavilan (Janice A. Gallmon). She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, twenty nine great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
