He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Otis Givens and Arlease Givens; and his siblings, Charles Givens, Maryann Shelley and Fredna Hunter.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce Givens; his children, Glynis Givens Crowe (Keith) and Glenn Edward Givens II (Cindy); and his grandchildren, Glenn "Trey" Edward Givens III, Chase Givens, Bryce Givens and Cameron Crowe.
