With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joy Anne Black in Destin, Florida, born in Erin, Tennessee, who passed away on April 15, 2021 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Charles; her parents, Maynie Roby and Leslie Roby; and her siblings, Ouina Fletcher (Bitsy) and Roland Roby.
She is survived by: her children, Jodi Thurmond (Paul), Penny Brown and Lesle Manget (Fred); her grandchildren, Paul Thurmond Jr., Joshua Thurmond, Betsy Thurmond Matz, Conor Brown, Adam Brown, Evan Brown, Taylor Brown Fontenot, Felice Manget, Caroline Manget Briggs and Jon Thomas Manget; and her great grandchildren, Canon Thurmond, Rider, Zeph Matz, Kepler, Crew, Lincoln Fontenot, Ryder Clem and Porter Briggs.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Georgia Mountains Hospice (georgiamountainshospice.org) or Pickens Animal Rescue (pickensanimalrescue.org) are appreciated.
