She was predeceased by: her husband Carlos P. Salaz; and her parents, Hiram Harper Mansel and Marguerite "Margie" Vann Mansel. She is survived by: her brother James Mansel; her sister-in-law Judy Mansel of Montgomery, Alabama; and her nephew Michael Mansel of Portland, Oregon.

She was an accomplished tennis player and played in charity tournaments often.
