She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Herbert Biers and Nellie Biers; her husband Robert "Bob" Portman; her daughters, Marcia Thompson (Jim) and Melinda King (Tom); her grandchildren, Lindsay Ross (John), Carleton Haack (Mallory), Cory Cook (Kinsey) and Bo Cook (Morgan); her great grandchildren, John Ross and Charlotte Ross; her sister Bonnie Mathis (Larry); her nieces, Pam Quinn, Jodi Tillotson (Rodney) and Candi Whitmer (Blaine); and her nephew Alan Mathis.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made "In Honor of Barbara Portman" to The Alzheimer's Association (http://www.alz.org) or Shriners Hospitals For Children (http://www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org).
