He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest W. Cone and Adele Beatrice Cone; his wife Cordelia Streebing Cone; and his siblings, Ernestine Knaub, Liilian Dukes, Alida Sterthaus, Robert Cone, Gales W. Cone and Catherine Gilbert.

He is survived by: his grandson Donald Cone; his sons, Daniel E. Cone, Donald G. Cone (Amanda) and R. D. Davis (Johanna); and his grandchildren, Austin Davis, Braelin Cone and Braxton Cone. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
