Pamela Jeannette Lickiss Obituary
Pamela Jeannette Lickiss, age 74, of DeLand, Florida, formerly of Denver, CO, Chicago, Marquette Heights and Peoria, IL died November 1 at Fish Memorial Hospital, Orange City, Florida. Pamela was born September 1, 1947 in Murphysboro, Illinois to Robert William Lickiss, Sr. and Jennie Colene (Saak) Lickiss. She was employed by Orange City Racing and Card Club as a supervisor. Pamela had a long and successful career in the food and beverage industry. She was also a certified food inspector.
Pamela is survived by her two sons, James Kelsey Lickiss (Tami) of Marquette Heights, IL, Javier Roberto Carassco (Elizabeth) of Denver, CO, granddaughters Shelby, Amalia, and Tabiah, great granddaughter Halen, her mother Colene Lickiss of Marquette Heights, IL, sisters Dr. Karen (Scott) Weiss of DeLand, FL, Honorable Monica (Stuart) Marlow of Redding, CA, Sandy (Michael) Isom of Germantown, TN, brothers Robert (Mary) Lickiss, Jr. of DeLand, FL, Jeff (Vickie) Lickiss of Havana, IL; eleven nephews and nieces and twelve great nephews and nieces. Pamela was preceded in death by her infant daughter Shelley Jeannette Hrdlicka and her father, Robert W. Lickiss, Sr. She was married to James Hrdlicka and then to Gus Caskey, both deceased.
Pamela was a member of the DeLand Fraternal Order of Eagles. She was an avid reader and a frequent visitor to the local public library. She enjoyed watching a good movie or TV series with her family and taking care of her indoor plants. Most of all Pamela loved her family, spending time with her granddaughters, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She loved her job and co-workers and worked up to the time of her death. Pamela was of the Catholic faith and attended Saint Peter Catholic Church, DeLand, FL.
Pamela donated her organs and tissue so others could live. Graveside services will be a later date at Percy Village Cemetery in Percy, IL where Pamela will be buried next to her father and grandmother. A celebration of her life will be held a later date with her family, fellow employees and customers at the Orange City Racing and Card Club, Orange City, FL. Pamela will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and infectious laugh. She will be forever missed.
