It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Matthew Pokol (Deland, Florida), who passed away on April 25, 2022, at the age of 59, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Steve Pokol; and his brothers-in-law, Bryan Spence, John Augustine and Jim Troxell. He is survived by: his wife Tobey Pokol (Smith); his mother Mary Ann Pokol; his sister Kristine (Tony Roddenberry) of DeLand, FL.; his mother-in-law Carol Smith of Ormond Beach, FL.; his uncle Andrew; his aunt Laura Merizio; his cousins, James of New Jersey, Allison Merizio of New Jersey, Michael of New Jersey and Natalie Merizio of New Jersey; and his parents-in-law, Mike, Julie Smith, Nora Troxell, Megan Weir, Kim Augustine, Patrick Smith, Kyle, Sheri Smith, Keith and Melissa Smith.
Matt was an avid dog lover and considered them a member of the family, and for this reason the family is requesting in lieu of flowers donations be made to: New Hope Animal Shelter 800 Humane Society Rd., DeLand, FL 32720.
