She was predeceased by: her children, David Nielsen and Laura Nielsen; her grandson Sherman Snook; and her parents, Lauretta May Schanck and William H. Schanck.
She is survived by: her husband Herbert D. Nielsen; her sons, Donald and William Nielsen; and her daughter-in-law Marianne Nielsen. She is also survived by five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lillian's memory can be made to Wounded Warrior Project, an organization she held in high regard for its commitment to the well-being of veterans and their families.
