We are sad to announce that on December 30, 2024, at the age of 77, Sammy Jay Wood of Defuniak Springs, Florida passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Pershing Wood and Irma Drake Wood; his siblings, Catherine Hahn Wood and John Pershing Wood; and his daughter Michelle Renee Wood.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Sue Wood; his son Michael Wood of DeFuniak Springs; his stepmother Pearl Ann Wood of Auburn, Alabama; his siblings, Susan Danley (Jack) of Samson, Alabama, Paul Wood (Amy), Helen Albano (Mike) of Oviedo, Florida, Valinda Johnson (Randy) of Valley, Alabama and Rebekah Lloyd of Opelika, Alabama; and his grandchildren, Tyler Wood (Nicole), Gracie Wood and Jacob Wood of DeFuniak Springs. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Clary-Glenn Funeral Home (230 Park Ave, Defuniak Springs, FL 32435). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
