He was predeceased by: his father Willie J. McKnight; and his wife Mary Ellen McKnight. He is survived by: his children, David Windham McKnight (Ryan Velasco) of Washington, D. C. and Mary Elizabeth McKnight (Josh Perkins) of Lexington, Kentucky; and his brothers, Joseph B. McKnight (Jan) of Spartanburg and Eugene H. McKnight of Montecito, California. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
