He was predeceased by: his sister Sarah. He is survived by: his wife Meda Janelle Cawthon; his daughter Jana L. Cooper of Atlanta; his granddaughter Alana Janelle Cooper of New York City; and his son-in-law Dr. Jerry D. Cooper of Atlanta.
In lieu of flowers, Mr. Cawthon requested donations be made in his name to the Destin Church of Christ at 150 Beach Drive, Destin, Florida 32541 and to the College Avenue Church of Christ at 337 College Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.
