He was predeceased by: his parents, Sidney Nelson and Gennieve Redmon Nelson; his parents-in-law, Bill and Jane Meigs; and his brothers, Terry and Henry Nelson.
He is survived by: his wife Martha Meigs Lang Nelson; his sons, Josh, Travis and Kahler; his siblings, Clarence, Raymond (Joyce), Wendell, Jerry (Jean) and Gwyn (Truett); his sisters-in-law, Susie and Abbie Nelson; and the mothers of children, Terry McGraw (Tom) and Anita Marynowski (Stan).
