He was predeceased by: his parents, James Bartley Darby and Barbara Louise King Darby; his brothers, Charles Darby and William Darby; and his son Alan James Darby.

He is survived by: his son Jeff A Darby (Lindsey) of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; his grandchildren, Harper Darby, Oliver Darby, Nick Johnson and Gavin Johnson; and also Janice Floyd of DeFuniak Springs, Florida..
