He was predeceased by: his parents, James Curtis and Nadine Donaldson Dunaway; his siblings, Jimmy Dunaway and Margaret "Peggy" Moffitt; and his daughter Theresa McDaniel.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Dunaway of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; his sons, Mark Phillips and Kevin McDaniel; and his siblings, Ricky Brassell of Freeport, Florida and Angie Short of Brooklyn, Alabama.. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
